Anna Oberwager received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from NYU in 1909 and 1910. In later years, she studied at Fordham University. She was admitted to the bar in 1916. She and her husband, Hon. Charles A. Oberwager, a New York City magistrate, were law partners, and they had two children, three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She also served as a court referee. Their son Edwin Oberwager served as an Assistant Attorney General for New York State and as a Justice of the New York Supreme Court. Ms. Oberwager passed away in 1987 at age 98.
