Virginia A. LoPreto is a partner at LoPreto + Levy, LLP, a boutique law firm in Manhattan with an emphasis on matrimonial and family law. A litigator by training Virginia balances her trial experience with her commitment to advocate for her clients, whether they be adults or children, with a keen understanding of the law, her clients’ goals and the importance of family. Virginia is certified to serve as an Attorney for the Child in the Appellate Division, First Department of the State of New York and, in 2020, was selected to serve on the roster of court-appointed mediators for the Matrimonial Mediation Pilot Program in the Supreme Court, New York County. After serving as President of the New York Women’s Bar Association for two (2) one-year terms she is now starting her second term as Immediate Past President. In addition to her years of involvement with the New York Women’s Bar Association which included co-chairing its Matrimonial and Family Law Committee, Virginia is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, New York Chapter and is also a member of its Board of Managers. Starting in September, 2021 Virginia will co-chair the Interdisciplinary Forum on Mental Health and Family Law with Dr. Sherill Sigalow. She is frequently called upon to lecture on family law matters for the NYWBA, AAML, Association of Family and Conciliation Courts and the New York State Bar Association.
